From the Director's Desk

A Warm Greeting from the Director!

At our institute, we have a dedicated team of skilled engineers, technical experts, and support staff. We've earned an international reputation through our commitment to achieving our goals. Our core activities include testing farm machinery, releasing innovative implements, and providing training for farmers, machinery owners, youths, and engineers. To date, we've trained numerous students and farmers, tested 256 machines, and hosted demonstrations for beneficiaries. We're expanding our demonstrations to cover farm and post-harvest machinery. We're committed to meeting the evolving technological needs in agricultural mechanization and achieving future state and national goals. The centre is only second to CIPHET, Ludhiana and one out of total four centres to get approval for testing of Post-Harvest Machinery in the country. Besides demonstration, training are also being conducted in this center.

Yours ingeniously,
Er J B Pattanaik

About

From the SLFMTTC

The Farm Machinery Training & Testing Centre, established under the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, vide letter no – 8 – 1/2004 – 2004 – MY (I & P), dt – 30.03.2012, has been a pivotal institution in the field of agricultural technology assessment. Commencing its operations in the fiscal year 2013-14, SLFMTTC is nestled within the premises of the Odisha Farm Machinery Research & Development Centre (OFMRDC) located in Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar.A significant milestone in this journey was the generous allocation of 5.37 acres of land by the Government of Odisha, exclusively for the functioning of this testing center in the state capital. Within this expansive facility, dedicated testing plots spanning 0.5 acres and 1 acre have been meticulously developed for the comprehensive evaluation of agricultural implements. To ensure the precision and reliability of our testing processes, SLFMTTC has acquired state-of-the-art testing machines and equipment, in addition to those already available at OFMRDC. Initially, the Government of India entrusted us with the task of testing farm machinery, and subsequently, on August 31, 2017, we received the authorization to expand our testing services to encompass Post Harvest Technology (PHT) Equipment. .
